Nominalizările de anul acesta pentru Globurile de Aur,  premii acordate de Asociația Presei Străine la Hollywood, au venit cu multe surprize, majoritatea neplăcute, cel puțin în opinia fanilor.

Mai multe titluri de succes au fost omise din cursa Globurilor de Aur în favoarea unor producții mai puțin aclamate. Astfel, Game of Thrones nu a intră în cursa pentru cel mai bun serial de dramă și la fel s-a întâmplat și în cazul The Handmaid’s Tale, în ciuda faptului că cel din urmă a câștigat mai multe premii anul trecut, în cadrul acestei gale. Printre nominalizați se află, totuși, și producții de succes precum The Irishman, Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, Marriage Story și Joker . De asemenea, au mai intrat în cursă Knives Out, The Morning Show sau Big Little Lies.

Gala de decernare a Globurilor de Aur va avea loc în data de 5 ianuarie 2020, la  hotelul Beverly Hilton din Los Angeles, iar show-ul va fi prezentat de Ricky Gervais.
